21 Savage Arrested By ICE For Overstaying His VISA Rapper Is Allegedly A UK National And Not Fro

Fans are shocked, concerned and speaking out against President Donald Trump’s policies as rapper 21 Savage has reportedly been arrested for overstaying his VISA. According to WSB-TV Atlanta reporter Mark Winne who is following the case and providing breaking updates, ICE busted 21 Savage who is reportedly from a UK national and not from Atlanta, Georgia. Some speculated the arrest was part of a Super Bowl shakedown, but reports say Savage (whose real name is Sha Yaa Bin Abraham-Joseph) was detained as police investigated a person he was with. While some are criticizing Trump’s policies others are praising them.

Early views about the charges against 21 Savage are mixed, but many are calling his persona as a homegrown-Atlanta act a sham.

Reports also indicate that though Sha Yaa Bin Abraham-Joseph “21 Savage” entered the United States legally when he was 12-years-old, his VISA expired in 2006, meaning his presence in the country since has been illegal. It’s unclear if 21 Savage was actually born in the UK or a UK governed territory. His mother is Dominican.

More from ICE spokesman: “Mr. Abraham-Joseph is presently in ICE custody in Georgia and has been placed into removal proceedings before the federal immigration courts. ICE will now await the outcome of his case before a federal immigration judge to determine future actions.” https://t.co/QrIwHI6Uq1

ICE officials released a statement regarding 21 Savage’s arrest and announced that he will possibly be deported out of the country.

“U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested unlawfully present United Kingdom national Sha Yaa Bin Abraham-Joseph AKA “21 Savage” during a targeted operation with federal and local law enforcement partners early Sunday in metro Atlanta. Mr. Abraham-Joseph was taken into ICE custody as he is unlawfully present in the U.S.

Mr. Abraham-Joseph initially entered the U.S. legally in July 2005, but subsequently failed to depart under the terms of his nonimmigrant visa and he became unlawfully present in the U.S. when his visa expired in July 2006. In addition to being in violation of federal immigration law, Mr. Abraham-Joseph was convicted on felony drug charges in October 2014 in Fulton County, Georgia.”

Some social media users began sharing memes and looked at the situation with humor. Some joked that 21 Savage had revealed he was British but no one seemed to notice.
